{"id":20319,"date":"2016-07-06T09:22:53","date_gmt":"2016-07-06T15:22:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fayac.com\/?p=20319"},"modified":"2024-08-30T11:08:50","modified_gmt":"2024-08-30T11:08:50","slug":"ohs-serves-enthusiasm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fayac.com\/ohs-serves-enthusiasm\/","title":{"rendered":"OHs, Serves, &#038; Enthusiasm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Serving Technique (right handed player)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have a consistent pre-serve routine that you do before every serve and start with a continental grip and your weight on your front foot<\/li>\n<li>Rock hands and weight back towards the back leg<\/li>\n<li>Either slide your foot up or have the back foot remain in the same spot prior to contact &#8212; be consistent<\/li>\n<li>Arms move at the same time, stay lose, and work together<\/li>\n<li>Hands rise together and stay lose until contact<\/li>\n<li>Left arm tosses the ball from the right of the body and right arm is turned to the left side of the body<\/li>\n<li>Right elbow needs to be on proper side of your body and have enough space from the rib cage<\/li>\n<li>Heals off the ground as leg bend occurs<\/li>\n<li>Racquet face is angled down from the trophy position<\/li>\n<li>Toss even with your head for deception<\/li>\n<li>Pronate according to the spin and location you are hitting<\/li>\n<li>Jump and land inside the baseline<\/li>\n<li>Lose and relaxed motion &#8212; slow and then fast<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Serving Drills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serve @ targets<\/li>\n<li>Service line progression back towards baseline or pronation progression using more legs<\/li>\n<li>Miss = fitness penalty<\/li>\n<li>#s &#8212; second serves out of 10<\/li>\n<li>Serve a set again yourself using lanes &#8212; make = win the point; miss = lost the point<\/li>\n<li>Throwing drills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>*First move on the OH is elbow back*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>**Have more enthusiasm for the rest of the summer than your competition.
